Visit Thorold's many city parks and enjoy the limitless selection of recreational facilities offered...splash pads, swimming pools, soccer and baseball fields, tennis and basketball courts, bocce lanes, children's playgrounds, skateboard facilities, walking paths and passive areas. For the more adventurous, explore the city's three conservation areas. Mel Swart-Lake Gibson Conservation Park, St. John's Conservation Area and Short Hills Provincial Park cover over 700 hectares (1728 acres) of land and offer such activities as fishing, hiking, wildlife watching, equestrian trails and mountain biking.
Cycle, roller blade or walk the Welland Canals Parkway Trail, part of the Greater Niagara Circle Route. Take in an exciting game of hockey, as the OHA's Thorold Blackhawks battle
